Coalbrook
Bathroom brassware, furniture and heating from the British design house named after Coalbrookdale — on display in our Staffordshire showroom.
Coalbrook is supplied through selected partners and is not available to buy online from us. Everything on this page can be seen, handled and quoted at our Newcastle-under-Lyme showroom, or priced over the phone.
Style meets function
Coalbrook takes the ordinary fittings of a bathroom — the mixer, the valve, the waste — and treats each one as a designed object rather than a component.
The team behind it carries more than two hundred years of combined experience in the industry. Every product travels from concept sketch through 3D prototype before it is signed off in house, which is why proportions hold together so well across the collections. The industrial identity comes from Coalbrookdale in the Midlands, where the Industrial Revolution began — an outlook that shows in the weight and the machining of the pieces themselves.
Solid brass bodies. Ceramic disc cartridges. PVD coating on every finish but chrome. WRAS and BREEAM approved, with a twenty-year guarantee behind the brassware.
Four collections, one language
Each range is built on a different handle. Everything else — spout profiles, wall plates, valve bodies, accessories — is designed to sit alongside the others, so ranges can be mixed within a scheme without it looking accidental.
Domo
MinimalThe quietest of the four. Streamlined, unornamented and cylindrical, Domo is the range that disappears into a scheme rather than competing with it — the usual choice when the tiles, stone or joinery are meant to be the story.
Decca
FlutedDomo's proportions with fine grooves cut around the body and handle. The fluting catches light and gives the brassware depth up close, which makes Decca a good fit where the room is otherwise plain and needs one detail to hold the eye.
Bank
Cross handleA softened cross-bar handle that reads traditional without tipping into period pastiche. Bank is the range we reach for in Victorian and Edwardian houses where a modern lever would look wrong but a reproduction tap would look worse.
Zurich
EngineeredTactile curves set against sharp angles, with white or black ceramic handle options alongside the metal. The most deliberate of the four to operate — worth turning on in the showroom before you decide, because the feel is the point.
What we hold
Every category below is available across all four ranges and all four finishes, so a whole room can be specified from one brand — including the parts that usually get forgotten until first fix.
Basin mixers
Deck mounted mono, two and three hole sets, wall mounted mixers with plates and spouts, and tall vessel mixers for countertop basins.
Bath fillers
Freestanding floor-mounted fillers, wall and deck mounted sets, bath shower mixers and concealed overflow fillers.
Showers
Concealed thermostatic valves in one to four outlets, exposed systems, fixed overheads, handsets, rails and body jets.
Bathroom furniture
The Shepherd, Farnolls and Decimal ranges — wall hung and floor standing units configured by carcass finish, basin or worktop, and tap hole layout.
Heating
Floating electric towel rails in flat and round profiles, supplied per rail so runs can be built to suit the wall.
Accessories
Towel bars and rings, robe hooks, paper holders, brush sets and shelves, plus click-clack wastes and exposed bottle traps — finished to match the brassware exactly. A kitchen mixer with swivel spout is available in the same finishes.
Flush plates
Pneumatic dual flush plates, supplied as a set with the concealed cistern where a full frame is needed.
Choose one metal, carry it through
Brassware, wastes, traps, accessories, flush plates, towel rails and furniture handles are all offered in the same four finishes. Chrome is polished; the other three are PVD coated, which is what earns the twenty-year guarantee. Select one below to set the accent on this page.
Finishes photograph very differently to how they read in a room. Bring your tile, stone or paint samples to the showroom and put them next to the real thing before you commit — it is the single most useful hour of a bathroom project.
Three fitted ranges
Coalbrook's furniture is configured rather than bought off a shelf: carcass finish, basin or worktop, and tap hole layout are each specified separately. Drawer lighting is a further option. We build the configuration with you and quote it as one line.
Decimal
Flat-fronted and handleless, in painted finishes. The quietest of the three and the easiest to sit under a run of wall units without the room feeling crowded.
Shepherd
Timber-fronted with a warmer, softer presence. Works particularly well with a countertop basin and a round mirror above it.
Farnolls
The most substantial, in darker timbers with a framed front. Extra-deep units are available, though note that tap holes affect the price on those specifically — worth checking early.
Body in one metal, lever in another
Coalescence takes the Zurich range further: the lever is specified separately from the body, giving twenty-four combinations from four body finishes and six lever finishes — the four metals plus white and black ceramic.
Build a combination below to see the two finishes together and get the product code you would order against. Codes are shown for ZU1004, the two tap hole deck mounted basin mixer with tall spout; the same lever options run across the Zurich basin and bath mixers.
Selected: Brushed Brass body, Black Ceramic lever
Lever upgrades are charged on top of the standard product price: metal levers add £18 each at RRP, ceramic levers £36 each. A two-lever set therefore adds £36 or £72. We will confirm the current figures with your quotation.
Beyond the standard ranges
Three further parts of the Coalbrook offering that are easy to miss in a brochure, and worth knowing about before a scheme is finalised.
Coaletch
An etching service that marks Coalbrook brassware to order — useful on hotel, members' club and one-off residential projects where a monogram or crest is wanted on the product itself.
Mainstream shower packs
Pre-configured shower packs that bundle the valve, outlet and fittings into a single specification. Straightforward answer where a scheme needs a complete working shower without individually selecting every part.
BAY shower trays
Coalbrook's own shower trays, sized and finished to sit with the brassware rather than being sourced separately and hoped for the best.
What we add
Range comparison
Domo, Decca, Bank and Zurich overlap more than the brochure suggests. We will tell you which one actually suits your basin, your tap holes and your budget — including when the cheaper range is the better answer.
Complete schedules
Send drawings or a schedule and we will price the whole scheme, concealed valves, rough-in parts and wastes included, so nothing surfaces at first fix.
Trade & specification
We work with architects, designers and installers across Staffordshire, Cheshire and the North West. Spec sheets, dimensions and current lead times on request.
