Product description

Gascogne gresX2 by COEM captures Gascogne Blue stone, a dense French limestone with fossil flecking and a cool, even grey-blue body that greys down beautifully outdoors.

The collection

gresX2 is Coem's 2 cm outdoor porcelain. The doubled thickness doubles the breaking load, so the same slab can be dry-laid straight onto grass, gravel or sand, set on adjustable pedestals for a raised terrace, or bedded in adhesive over a screed for a driveway. It is frost proof, fire proof, R11 anti-slip, resistant to chemicals and abrasion, and can be lifted and replaced at any time without breaking anything up.

The colours

Bianco · Beige · Grigio · Grigio Scuro · Antracite

How to use it

Use Gascogne's cool blue-grey limestone on contemporary terraces, pool decks and paths. The 90.6 × 90.6 cm gives a generous terrace with fewer joints; the 60.4 × 90.6 cm suits paths and smaller areas. Match it to the indoor Gascogne tiles for a continuous floor from inside to out.

Laying

  • On grass, gravel or sand — no adhesive or grout, walkable immediately, lift and replace at will.
  • Raised pedestals — 5 supports per slab (4 corners, 1 centre) for inspectable terraces with services beneath.
  • Adhesive on screed — for vehicle-trafficked surfaces; prepare the slab to suit the intended use.

FAQs

How much should I order?

Measure the area in m² and add 10% for cuts, breakages and spares for future repairs (15% for herringbone or diagonal layouts). Tiles are sold in full boxes only. Use the box calculator next to the price: it adds the 10%, rounds up to whole boxes and fills in the quantity for you.

What does rectified mean?

Rectified tiles are ground to an exact size after firing, giving straight, sharp edges. That allows tight grout joints of around 2–3 mm. Non-rectified (natural-edge) tiles need a slightly wider joint.

What do R10, R11 and A+B mean?

R ratings (DIN 51130) measure slip resistance in shoes: R10 suits most indoor floors, and R11 suits outdoor areas and wet, heavy-use spaces. A+B (DIN 51097) is the barefoot wet rating, used for showers and pool surrounds. The rating for your chosen finish is shown under Technical information.

What does V3 shade variation mean?

V3 means moderate variation in shade and pattern from tile to tile, as you'd see in natural stone. Draw tiles from several boxes as you lay, so the variation spreads evenly across the floor.

How long does delivery take?

COEM tiles are shipped from Italy, typically within 2–4 weeks. Delivery is free on orders of £750 and over; under that, pallet delivery is calculated at checkout. Large-format tiles and slabs (90 × 90 cm and above) always carry a delivery charge, calculated at checkout. Call us on 01782 617517 if you need a firm date.
