Microforce RTU Base 100% Waterproof

Microforce RTU Base is the ready-to-use, 100% waterproof base coat of the RTU system. Open the pot and apply — there are no powders or resins to mix. It levels uneven walls and fills the grout lines of existing tiles, creating a flat, sound surface for the RTU Thin or RTU Rustik finish.

For floors, two coats of RTU Base with reinforcing mesh are always recommended before the finish.

How it's applied

1. Prepare — clean, sand and open the pore. Any pre-treatment should be done 14–21 days beforehand.
2. Prime — Hidroprimer on absorbent surfaces (plaster, plasterboard, cement); allow 2–48 hours. Primer 2C with quartz on low-porosity surfaces; Epoxim Plus 3C on damp substrates.
3. Fill joints — on tiles, marble or terrazzo, fill the grout lines with RTU Base and leave 4–6 hours.
4. Level — apply 1–2 coats with a rigid trowel, 4 hours between coats, sanding with 80 grit and removing dust.
5. Finish — apply RTU Thin or RTU Rustik.
