Product description

Rebel is oxidised metal in porcelain — scorched bronze, cold rolled lead, verdigris and warm brass — and the collection that does the most work in a room for the least surface area.

The seven metals

Bronze is the deep burnt copper the collection is built around and the only one made in the 160x320 slab; Lead a cold rolled grey with rust bleeding through; Night the darkest, a blued steel; Silver a pale zinc; and White a chalked, almost powder-coated metal.

Then the two accent colours: Emerald, a verdigris green that reads as aged copper, and Brass, a warm yellow gold. Both are made in 120x120 and 60x120 only — they are feature colours, and the factory prices and produces them as such.

How to use it

Metal effects are best used sparingly and lit properly. A single wall of Bronze or Emerald with a grazing light down it will do more than a whole room of it — and at 120x280 or 160x320 that wall is one or two pieces with no joint to break the oxidisation.

Brass and Emerald are the two to use for a bar, an island end or a fireplace. Lead, Silver and White are calm enough to take across a whole floor, and Night is the one to specify if you want a dark room that still has depth in it.

  • Allow 10% over your measured area for cuts and future repairs

FAQs

How much should I order?

Measure the area in m² and add 10% for cuts, breakages and spares for future repairs (15% for herringbone or diagonal layouts). Tiles are sold in full boxes only. Use the box calculator next to the price: it adds the 10%, rounds up to whole boxes and fills in the quantity for you.

What does rectified mean?

Rectified tiles are ground to an exact size after firing, giving straight, sharp edges. That allows tight grout joints of around 2–3 mm. Non-rectified (natural-edge) tiles need a slightly wider joint.

What do R10, R11 and A+B mean?

R ratings (DIN 51130) measure slip resistance in shoes: R10 suits most indoor floors, and R11 suits outdoor areas and wet, heavy-use spaces. A+B (DIN 51097) is the barefoot wet rating, used for showers and pool surrounds. The rating for your chosen finish is shown under Technical information.

What does V3 shade variation mean?

V3 means moderate variation in shade and pattern from tile to tile, as you'd see in natural stone. Draw tiles from several boxes as you lay, so the variation spreads evenly across the floor.

How long does delivery take?

COEM tiles are shipped from Italy, typically within 2–4 weeks. Delivery is free on orders of £750 and over; under that, pallet delivery is calculated at checkout. Large-format tiles and slabs (90 × 90 cm and above) always carry a delivery charge, calculated at checkout. Call us on 01782 617517 if you need a firm date.
