Flaviker Navona Travertine-Effect Porcelain Tiles

Navona is Roman travertine, and the only collection in our Flaviker range offered in both quarry cuts — Vein and Cross — so the same stone can be run two ways in one room.

The three colours, two cuts

Honey is the warm classic travertine; Bone a paler, cooler cream; and Grey the contemporary silver-grey reading of the same stone.

Each is cut two ways. Vein cut saws with the bedding planes, giving the long horizontal striations travertine is known for — the cut for walls, and for making a room feel wider. Cross cut saws against them, giving the cloudier, more open flower pattern — the cut for floors. Honey Vein is the only one made in the 160x320 slab.

How to use it

The traditional specification is Cross underfoot and Vein on the wall, run horizontally. It is how travertine is used in Rome and it is still the best answer — the floor stays calm, the wall gets the movement, and both come from the same colour so nothing clashes.

Real travertine has open pores that need filling and sealing; this does not, which is the main reason to specify it in a bathroom or a kitchen. The 20mm X20 in Honey Vein and Honey Cross takes the same floor out to a pool surround, where real travertine would stain.

Ordering & delivery

• Sold by: the m² for standard sizes; 120x280, 160x320 are sold per piece — each listing shows the m² a slab covers
• Prices: inclusive of VAT and of delivery from the factory in Italy
• Delivery: charged at the basket by the weight of your order — UK mainland kerbside pallet. Most 8.5mm porcelain runs about 19kg per m², 6mm slabs about 16.5kg per m², and 20mm X20 about 45kg per m²
• Crated sizes: 160x320, 120x280, 120x120 travel on a crate, A-frame or boarded pallet — an oversized pallet handling charge is added at the basket and confirmed before despatch
• Lead time: 4–6 weeks, ordered from Italy. Non-stocked lines are made to order
• Minimum order: one full box — part boxes cannot be supplied
• Allow 10% over your measured area for cuts and future repairs
