Fioranese Prestige Marble-Effect Mosaics

Prestige Mosaics — three mosaics on 30x30 sheets, all in the six Prestige marbles. 5x5 is a straight grid of small squares, 36 to a sheet. Exa is a hexagon, 30 to a sheet. Weave is a two-colour basketweave of 72 pieces, built around Fioranese's own pairings.

Prestige is built in pairs. Fioranese designed the six marbles as three light-and-dark couples that share a graphic character: Arabescato with Black Antique, sharply defined veining in cool tones; Statuarietto with Carnico, finer veins, also cool; Borghini with Portoro, softer movement in warmer tones. Each works on its own, but the collection is at its best when a pale floor meets its dark counterpart on a wall or a threshold.

Mosaics are where the pairing idea becomes literal — the Weave sheet combines a light and a dark marble in one piece.

The six marbles

Statuarietto Effect is the classic white with fine grey veining, the most widely specified of the six. Borghini Effect is a warmer cream with soft golden movement. Arabescato Effect is white with bold, sharply drawn grey veins. Carnico Effect is a deep grey-black with fine white veining, the dark partner to Statuarietto. Portoro Effect is black with dramatic gold veining — the boldest in the range. Black Antique Effect is a dense black with cool white veins, pairing with Arabescato.

The Weave pairings

Weave is a two-colour basketweave and the pairings are fixed by Fioranese, not chosen. Statuarietto, Borghini and Arabescato each pair with Portoro; Portoro and Carnico each pair with Statuarietto. Black Antique is the exception — it is woven in a single colour. So the colour you order is the dominant marble and its partner comes with it, which is worth checking against your floor before you specify.

Where mosaics earn their keep

A shower floor is the obvious one: the small format lets the sheet follow a fall to the waste, which a large tile cannot do. Beyond that, a band of Exa or Weave at dado height, or a niche lined in 5x5, gives a marble bathroom some relief without introducing another material. All three are priced well above the field tiles per square metre, which is another reason to use them as a deliberate detail.

Full pallet: reduced rate applied automatically on m² field lines — battiscopa and mosaics are special pieces and are not eligible

See it before you buy

Mosaic sheets are almost impossible to judge from a product shot, because what matters is the joint density and how the sheet reads at arm's length rather than the colour of one chip.
