Fioranese Pietraviva Stone-Effect Porcelain Tiles

Pietraviva by Fioranese — stone-effect porcelain in four shades, notable for offering a Silk finish alongside the usual matt. Silk is a soft, faintly satin surface, warmer underfoot and to the touch than a true matt, and it is the finish the collection is really built around.

Pietraviva reads as a quarried stone that has been used rather than cut yesterday — a fine, even grain with soft tonal drift across the face, in four shades that run from a warm gold through to a pale pink-grey.

The four shades

Dorato is a warm golden stone, the richest of the four. Grigio Chiaro is a cool pale grey and the most architectural. Greige sits between the two and is the easiest to pair with timber. Rosato is a soft pink-grey — understated, and the one that warms a north-facing room.

Silk or Naturale — and a gap to know about

The Silk finish runs in all four shades on the 60.4x90.6. The Naturale Rettificato in that size is made in Grigio Chiaro and Greige only — Dorato and Rosato are not offered in it. If you want a true matt in one of those two shades, the 40.8x61.4 or the Modulo is the route, both of which are Naturale.

The Modulo

The Modulo is a pre-planned mixed-size pattern, not a single tile: each box holds one 40.8x61.4, two 40.8x40.8, one 20.3x40.8 and two 20.3x20.3, totalling 0.75m². A full module is two boxes, so order in even numbers or the repeat will not complete. It gives the irregular coursing of an old stone floor without setting it out on site.

Two battiscopa

A 7.5x60.4 in the Silk finish to match the rectified 60.4x90.6, and a 6.8x61.4 in Naturale to match the 40.8x61.4 and the Modulo. Match the skirting to the tile so the joints line up, and note the finishes are not interchangeable between the two.
