Autentica Esterno — the outdoor half of the Autentica collection, in the same two limestones and four shades as the interior tiles. Two routes: a 9mm Esterno that bonds conventionally and keeps the stone running through a threshold, and a 20mm gres++ paver heavy enough to dry-lay on grass, gravel or pedestals.
Autentica draws on two limestones rather than one, and Fioranese have kept them distinct: the beige pair and the grey pair carry different graphics, not just different tints. Each is offered in a lighter and a fuller shade, so you can step the tone within one stone or set the two stones against each other.
The four shades
Light Beige is the palest, a warm sand-cream that lifts a north-facing room. Beige is the fuller version of the same stone, warmer and more earthy. Light Grey is a cool pale grey with the finer of the two graphics. Grey is the deepest, an architectural mid grey. The two beiges share one limestone graphic and the two greys share another, so a beige and a grey will not read as the same stone in two colours — which is deliberate, and worth knowing if you are mixing them.

Which thickness
The 9mm Esterno is the same tile as the interior Naturale with an R11 grip surface, so it bonds to a screed conventionally and lets the tone and joint line run straight through a set of doors. The 20mm gres++ is a structural paver: heavy enough to lay dry on grass, gravel or pedestals with no adhesive, and rated for heavy traffic as well as residential. It is the one to use over a roof deck, or anywhere you might want to lift and re-lay later. Both carry the pool-surround rating.
Outdoors in the Modulo
The mixed-size Modulo is made in Esterno as well, which is unusual — most collections keep their pattern layouts indoors. Remember a full module is the contents of two boxes, so order in even numbers.

See it before you buy
Outdoor porcelain looks quite different wet, and the 20mm has a noticeably coarser grip than the 9mm — both worth handling before you specify. Samples of all four shades are available to order, and the range is on display at our luxury interiors showroom in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Our team can help with quantities, the Modulo layout, trims and adhesive specification. Call 01782 617517 or email sales@homeofclay.co.uk for a quotation or to arrange a visit.
