Autentica by Fioranese — limestone-effect porcelain in four shades drawn from two different stones, across five rectified sizes plus a Modulo pattern, a mosaic and a full set of step elements. It is a restrained, architectural stone rather than a decorative one.

Autentica draws on two limestones rather than one, and Fioranese have kept them distinct: the beige pair and the grey pair carry different graphics, not just different tints. Each is offered in a lighter and a fuller shade, so you can step the tone within one stone or set the two stones against each other.

The four shades

Light Beige is the palest, a warm sand-cream that lifts a north-facing room. Beige is the fuller version of the same stone, warmer and more earthy. Light Grey is a cool pale grey with the finer of the two graphics. Grey is the deepest, an architectural mid grey. The two beiges share one limestone graphic and the two greys share another, so a beige and a grey will not read as the same stone in two colours — which is deliberate, and worth knowing if you are mixing them.

The Modulo

The Modulo is a pre-planned mixed-size pattern rather than a single tile: each box holds one 40.8x61.4, two 40.8x40.8, one 20.3x40.8 and two 20.3x20.3, totalling 0.75m². A full module is two boxes, so order in even numbers or you will be a piece short of completing the repeat. Laid out, it gives the irregular coursing of an old stone floor without anyone having to set it out on site. Note the Modulo and the 40.8x61.4 are not rectified — they take a slightly wider joint than the rectified sizes, so plan the junction if you are mixing them.

Step elements and trims

Three L-shaped elements wrap a step in the floor face: a straight Lineare ad Elle and left- and right-handed Angolare corners. A 7.5x60.4 battiscopa completes the skirting, and a 5x5 mosaic on a 30.2x30.2 sheet handles shower floors and banding. All are sold per piece except the mosaic, which is priced per square metre.

Also available outdoors

The same four shades run outside in a matching R11 Esterno and a 20mm gres++ paver, listed separately — so an interior floor can carry through a threshold on the same stone.

See it before you buy

Two limestone graphics in four shades is more nuance than a screen conveys, and the step between Light Beige and Beige is finer in a photograph than it is in daylight. Samples of all four shades are available to order, and the range is on display at our luxury interiors showroom in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Our team can help with quantities, the Modulo layout, trims and adhesive specification. Call 01782 617517 or email sales@homeofclay.co.uk for a quotation or to arrange a visit.
