The Coalbrook Domo Basin Waste CO5002 is the matching waste for the Domo basin range, finished to the same standard as the tap rather than a generic plug fitted underneath. It carries the product code CO5002 and is available click-clack, slotted, unslotted or freeflow. It works across all four Coalbrook ranges, so it can be specified with Decca, Domo, Bank or Zurich brassware. Available in 4 finishes: Brushed Brass, Chrome, Gunmetal and Brushed Nickel.

Choosing the right waste

Slotted or unslotted is the question that matters, and it is decided by your basin rather than by taste. A basin with an overflow needs a slotted waste so the overflow can drain through it. A basin without one needs unslotted. Fit the wrong one and you either render the overflow useless or let water escape where it should not.

Click-clack is the push-to-close type most people expect. Freeflow has no plug mechanism at all, which suits a basin only ever used for handwashing — worth considering in a cloakroom where nobody will ever fill the bowl.

If you are unsure which your basin takes, send us the model and we will tell you. It is a small part that is genuinely easy to get wrong.

Pair it with the CO5004 bottle trap in the same finish, particularly on a wall-hung basin where the pipework is visible.
