The Coalbrook Decimal Tall Unit 1600mm Right Hand DT916R brings the Decimal collection to a bathroom installation. Inspired by Sir Joseph Whitworth’s revolutionary Millionth Machine, every detail of the Decimal vanity unit — from the chamfered edges to the mechanically synchronised drawer runners — has been crafted to a standard Whitworth himself would recognise. Available in 7 hand-finished painted colours: Brazed Brown, Gauge Green, Linen Line, Metric Marine, Subtle Silk, Tenth Tuscan and Whitworth White.

Specifying the DT916R
A tall storage unit rather than a vanity, with glass shelving inside and interior shelf placement considered rather than incidental. Left-hand and right-hand versions differ only in the hinge side.
Integrated interior lighting is available as an upgrade on the drawer units, though not on the cloakroom sizes. Worth deciding at the point of order rather than later.
Where Shepherd honours pastoral craftsmanship and Farnolls draws on industrial architecture, Decimal is about engineering precision. It is the range for a bathroom where the finish is a colour decision rather than a wood one, and the seven hand-finished shades give considerably more latitude than a wood grain allows.
Choosing a basin
The vanity unit price excludes the basin, so this is a second decision rather than an afterthought. There are three routes:
- Port ceramic (gloss) — A soft bowl shape in classic British Standard White, with a fully glazed slit overflow. Available with 0, 1 or 3 tap holes.
- Float mineral marble (matt) — Silica-free, made using 100% renewable energy and fully recyclable, built on Dolomite rock. Also 0, 1 or 3 tap holes.
- Quartz countertop — Premium quartz in Beach Blanket, Midnight Mill or Whisper White, supplied with 0 tap holes as a base for a separate basin.
The tap hole count is the thing to settle early, because it decides which brassware will fit. Tell us the basin and the tap you have in mind and we will confirm they work together before anything is ordered.
