ABK Poetry Wood Wood-Effect Porcelain Tiles

Poetry Wood is part of the Poetry House project ABK developed with Paola Navone’s OTTO studio — a wood-effect porcelain drawn from aged, sun-bleached boards rather than showroom oak.

The four colours

Gold is warm honeyed timber; Ecru pale and washed; Oak the mid brown; Mud a grey-brown driftwood. Gold and Oak are also made in 20mm OUT.20 planks for terraces, so a deck can continue an interior floor.

Specification

• Material: Full-body porcelain stoneware, made in Italy by ABK (Fiorano, Modena)
• Thickness: 8.5mm interior planks; 20mm OUT.20 exterior (Gold and Oak)
• Sizes: 26.5x180, 30x120 and 20x120 planks; 30x180 and 30x120 in 20mm
• Finishes: matt Naturale Rettificato; R11 anti-slip in 20x120 and all 20mm
• Application: Internal floors and walls; R11/OUT.20 outside

How to use it

Lay long planks with a random stagger of at least 30cm and mix boards from several boxes — the graphic repeats are generous but the eye finds pairs if you let it. Herringbone in 20x120 suits the Ecru and Mud tones particularly well.

Ordering & delivery

• Sold by: the m² for standard sizes; large-format slabs (120x280 and 160x320) are sold per piece — each listing shows the m² a slab covers
• Prices: inclusive of VAT
• Crated sizes: 120x280 and 160x320 slabs travel on a crate or A-frame and 120x120 on a boarded pallet — a handling charge is added at the basket and confirmed before despatch
• Delivery: 4–6 weeks, ordered from Italy. Non-stocked lines are made to order
• Allow 10% over your measured area for cuts and future repairs

See it before you buy

Marble-effect porcelain lives or dies on the quality of the graphic, and no thumbnail does a 2.8-metre slab justice. Samples are available to order, and the ABK ranges are on display at our luxury interiors showroom in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, where you can see whole slabs rather than chips.
