Collection: Living Room Floor Tiles

Tiling a living room is a different decision from tiling a bathroom. Nothing here is about water resistance — it's about how a floor looks across a large open space, and how it feels to live on.

Large format is usually the answer. A 120 x 280cm slab across an open-plan ground floor gives you almost no grout lines, which reads as calm rather than busy and makes the room feel larger than it is. The trade-off is that big slabs need a properly flat subfloor and a fitter who has handled them before.

Porcelain is an excellent conductor, so if you have underfloor heating it will outperform timber or carpet comfortably. Without it, a tiled living room floor can feel cold — worth thinking about before you commit, particularly in an older house.

Wood effects are the compromise most people land on: the warmth of a timber floor with none of the movement, scratching or refinishing. Marble and stone looks suit a more formal room, and a polished finish will bounce light around a space with limited windows.

All of these are rated for floor use. If the room runs out onto a terrace, ask us about matching outdoor versions.
